Photographing live music is always good fun. In smaller venues it can be challenging as most of the time the lighting and sound are terrible, and there usually isn’t a defined stage of sorts just an area set aside for bands to set up in. Not the case here though. The Railway Inn in Winchester has a fantastic little gigging venue at the rear of the pub that has both great lighting, great sound and a decent sized slightly raised stage. A good friend of mine is the drummer in The Blurtones who are a south coast based britpop covers band and I did some freebie work for them to video their live performances at the Railway Inn. The photographs below I took at one gig to give some visual options for their social media. It also doubled as an excuse to photograph a live gig which something I had not done in a long time.
